The day it started

Shae had been living in Friant, CA, for the past five years, while Jacob had worked at the nearby gas station, just 10 minutes away, for two years. Despite visiting the Shell station almost daily, Shae had never seen him. Jacob had left to work at In-N-Out but returned for the summer to earn some extra money. During his last few weeks at the station, Shae and her friends were heading home to North Fork, CA, when she realized she was low on gas and decided not to risk it. They pulled into the Shell station, and Shae went inside to grab a Red Bull and $60 worth of gas, which Jacob rang up. She didn’t think much of it at the time, but as she left, she mentioned to her friend that she thought he was cute. Her friend, seizing the opportunity, went back inside and got Jacob’s number. When she returned, she shared the news with Shae, and the rest, as they say, is history.
